Honoring Major Charles Robert “Rob” Soltes Jr. This Memorial Day

Each Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their courage, selflessness, and devotion to duty continue to inspire us and remind us of the true cost of freedom.

This Memorial Day, Fisher House Southern California was honored to recognize Major Charles Robert “Rob” Soltes Jr., U.S. Army, as the honoree of our 2026 Memorial Day Appeal.

Major Soltes dedicated his life to serving our country and exemplified the values of leadership, integrity, and commitment to others. His legacy continues through the family, friends, and fellow service members whose lives he touched, and through the continued support of military and veteran families facing medical crises today.

In conjunction with the appeal, the Fisher House Southern California Board of Directors generously provided a $20,000 matching gift opportunity, encouraging supporters to double their impact in support of our mission.

Every day, Fisher House Southern California provides a “home away from home” for military and veteran families while their loved ones receive medical care. Through our network of Fisher Houses and Military & Family Support Program, families can remain together during some of life’s most challenging moments, at no cost to them.

As we remember those who gave their lives in service to our nation, we also honor their legacy by continuing to support the military and veteran community they served so faithfully.

We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who participated in our Memorial Day Appeal and helped ensure that military and veteran families receive the comfort, care, and support they deserve.
